Well, I just had to do it again since I had so much fun the first time.
Just me, and my friend Alan on this trip for some fun with my AK, AR, and G-21SF.
Alan brought his XD40, and his AR.
Alan brought some 1/2" rebar to stick the apples (exploding biodegradable targets) on top of.
Seeing what the rounds we were shooting do to 1/2" rebar at 50 yards gives you cause to pause for sure.
These were straight when we started:
7.62x39 out of one of my AKs
M855 5.56 steel core 62grain out of my AR
Nico's target
I think he's dead
We shot from different positions with the rifles. Sitting, Standing, Kneeling, and Prone
We were the first ones there, and only heard one other group shooting waaaaaaay off in the distance today.
Sort of a funny thing happened on the way out. We came across a steep hill with loose dirt on the dirt (semi) road. Alan's poor car could get about halfway then just sit spinning tires. He finally made it up by going at it in reverse (front wheel drive). Now the funny part. At the top of that hill the road was blocked so after about 15 minutes of farting around trying to get up that hill we had to drive back down to find another way out of the valley.
A ton of fun, and we will certainly be going again. _________________
